Satpura Salaam - The Prologue

A section with a rich heritage closed on the 24th of November 2019. A section that has been in action since the 1880's, The end of the mega Satpura lines that extended all the way from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh to the Chanda Fort in Maharashtra. The legendary Satpura Express plied on this route, swaying majestically from Jabalpur to Gondia, enjoying unprecedented priority and rightfully the queen of the line. 

Sadly today, the mighty Satpura line travereses a mere 105 km from Itwari to Nagbhir seeing 4 services in each side. 

My itinerary was quite simple

Secunderabad Nagpur Superfast to Nagpur

Itwari Nagbhir Passenger till Bhandewadi Road

Return to Nagpur by road

Nagpur Kolhapur Express to Parbhani

Nagarsol Tirupati Special to Secunderabad
